MINOX PX3D – future-oriented 3D camera concept for photography
With the MINOX PX3D, MINOX has introduced a completely new camera concept study – a camera that has overcome conventional boundaries and opened a new dimension in photography.
What’s unique: the MINOX PX3D opens a 3-dimensional photographic experience and renders the results in a fascinating and realistic quality - and that without special glasses or technical accessories.
The viewer will be astonished alone by its outwardly puristic and reduced design, giving the camera a remarkably and completely innovative exterior. The four lenses situated vertically above each other add to its catchy design. Four camera modules contained within the MINOX PX3D, create 4 photos simultaneously, each of which are located on slightly shifted perspective planes.
After the exposure, the user can decide during playback between various possibilities: for an impressively realistic, spatial and moving 3D image – computed by the exclusively unique MINOX software – or for a classic photo in JPEG format with 4x5 million pixels.
The result in both cases is impressive. Fascinatingly real and dynamic – without the need for special glasses or other technical accessories.
The distinct design of the MINOX PX3D has adhered to technological ideology and punctuates its future-oriented concept. Tidy and consistently reduced in its design vocabulary, the camera’s line management remains clear and straightforward.
Forecast: the next step is to extend the underlying concept of the PX3D to 16 camera modules. The main advantage of this technology, in addition to the 3D effect, lies within the ability of each module to specifically select an individual exposure and focal point. This allows the user to decide and determine the priority between exposure and sharpness for each shot.
The concept behind the MINOX PX3D involves a close and intense cooperation between MINOX GmbH as developer of the camera and of 3D-Competence (www.3d-competence.com) who has transferred its know-how from within the automobile sector to the development of specialised software for use with photographic technology.
